The "new" Nordic Tankers ready
The "new" Nordic Tankers is now a reality since the Board has exercised the authority it received at the extraordinary general meeting on 17 December 2009 to buy parts of the Clipper Group's activities in chemical tankers.
Nordic Tankers now includes a fleet of 15 own vessels and management of about 55 non-owned chemical and product tankers.
At the same time, the company's new management has gone to work. It is a management consisting of CEO Tommy Thomsen and CFO Christian Hassel, supplemented by Senior Vice President Jens Pontoppidan and Senior Vice President Claus Thornberg.

With the agreement finally confirmed Nordic Tankers dramatically alters its business profile. So far, the company has operated as a so-called tonnage provider with both the technical operation and the commercial operation as outsourced functions. Henceforth, Nordic Tankers will be a genuine shipping company which will operate a large part of the fleet with a considerable organisation in Denmark and abroad. This will definitely make Nordic Tankers a significant global player in the market.
The initial ten ships in Nordic Tankers remain in their respective pools, while the five acquired Clipper ships, along with the ships in management, now are operated under their own auspices.
Until further notice, Nordic Tankers A / S maintains its formal office address in Holstebro, but the company will be operated from Harbour House in Copenhagen where approx. 100 out of a total of about 120 employees are located.
