Clipper Marine Services A/S is handling the technical management branch of Nordic Tankers and will change name as of 16 April 2010 to Nordic Tankers Marine A/S.
Clipper Marine Services is the in-house technical management department of Nordic Tankers. Although not the main focus, Clipper Marine Services does also accept vessels in third party management as well as crew management.
The technical organisation is designed scalable to absorb fluctuations in the fleet. The main components are:
1. Vessel groups; two vessel groups are providing technical support/fleet management to the entire fleet within daily technical operation, overall vessel maintenance, inspections, purchasing, dry dock planning and execution.
2. Corporate Compliance; ensuring full compliance with environmental rules and regulations and setting standards on improved environmental performance. The compliance department is also in charge of the “Environmental Compliance Programme” which Clipper Marine Services is subject to until late June 2011 as part of a settlement in the US.
3. SQE; is in charge of safety and health issues and maintenance of Clipper Marine Services’ Safety Management System. The department is handling vetting issues and assisting the technical department in performing all operations in accordance with international regulation of the tanker industry. The SQE department is focusing on having the best and safest practices in the shipping industry, but is also bound to develop next practices.
4.Marine Human Resources; is in charge of manning the vessels with well educated, trained and competent seafarers and is taking care of crew welfare, recruitment and developing strategies to attract and retain officers and crew, all done under the idea, that Clipper Marine Services shall be seen as an attractive, dedicated and long term employer.
Marine HR is also in charge of Clipper Marine Services’ cadet programme and the aim is to have cadets on board all our vessels.
